All right. It's 'time' spelled backward.
What are you emitting? What are you training for?
The older I get, the more I wonder about time. What does it mean? Younger, it took what I would learn to identify as an eternity for my birthday to appear on the horizon. Today, the event seems to come around almost as swiftly as the holidays.
So, what am I training for? I don’t run marathons, I don’t race bikes, I have virtually no chance of being signed to crew on a TransPac race. So, why do I go to the club (I have a couple of places) as often as I can, ride my bike to work?
Time. I am trying to use it as if it were a bank. My life bank. I like to think that for every minute I lift a weight, get my heart to pump its most efficiently, turn fat into energy, perhaps I am affecting my life. If not adding ‘time’ to it, allowing me to fully enjoy the ‘times’ I have yet to experience.
I have no control over what’s in store for me. I do have control over training the muscles and strength I need to lift and hug a squirmy 50-pound grandson. To catch a 25-pound granddaughter as she leaps with full trust into my arms from the staircase.
This is what I am training for. As I can cut any workout short at the least provocation (I call it 'exercise denail disarray), I use a trainer for a 30-minute intense workout. And, it works. If you have access to small group training, try it. You can target specific parts of your body to shape. And get on with your life.
If you need some hints, these have worked for me
Eat Less (the gates of heaven are narrow!)
Increase your water intake (drink a lot)
Increase your vegetable intake (color matters, red, green, yellow and orange)
